VN Tunnel and Underground, Inc. (VNTU Inc.) is formed by Mr. Tung Vu and Mrs. Thuy Nguyen in March 2017 with the primary focus on providing high quality engineering and consulting services in tunnel and underground as well as other conventional civil engineering works. VNTU Inc. is a certified SBE and DBE firm and a trusted technical resource for partners and projects in the Los Angeles Area.

Mr. Tung Vu is a tunnel engineer with 20 years of experience in design and construction of various types of structures including subway and water tunnels, underground subway station, residential building, and industrial structures. Mr. Vu has a bachelor in structural engineering and master’s degree in geotechnical engineering. He is holding California professional civil and geotechnical engineer licenses and in process of obtaining his structural engineer license.

Prior to VNTU Inc., Mr. Vu was AECOM’s Lead Tunnel Engineer for the Los Angeles Metro Area, which geographically covers the southern California and Nevada. In his capacity, he has worked on numerous tunneling projects, many of which are transit projects with LA Metro. Mr. Vu has a proven record of excellent work on a number of Metro’s transit projects. These include the Regional Connector project where he serves as the lead structural and geotechnical reviewer to review design of bored tunnel, cut-and-cover tunnel, underground stations, SEM cavern, crosspassages, support of excavation, permeation and compensation grouting for building protection, building underpinning, and geotechnical reports submitted by the design-builder during final design phase. On the North Hollywood West Entrance project, he served as the structural and geotechnical engineer of record. The services that VNTU Inc. provides are simply the continuity of excellent works provided by Mr. Vu on the previous and current Metro projects. Prior to AECOM, Mr. Vu worked for Jacobs Associates in Pasadena, CA, and URS Corp in Seattle, WA.
